One of most powerful things on facebook is ability to actually segment friends, so you can create lists.
Local people –people that live in same area I grown up in, My Awesome networking people –those are people I have meet thru Internet Marketing world that I work with, I also have PLM which stands for Product Lunch Managers I stay in touch with.
There is lot people who have personal friends plus business associates plus coworkers all mix into one bag within your friends list, there is a way that you can setup your facebook friends list and you should be using facebook friends list. I am going to show you example here on how I start by adding somebody into friends list.
I have lists already created, so when I decide to ad someone as a friend on facebook first need to click Add as Friend and it will load little box on your screen. You will see your lists as drop down menu, click to pool it down and ad friend to appropriate list.
From your Facebook profile you go to upper right corner to Account and then select Edit friends. After you get on Friends screen click on box that says Create a List and Facebook will open separate window which will populate faces and names all friends that you have on facebook. In this example we are going to create new list to keep things simple we are going to call it -A Name List. Scroll thru your friends in same window and select all friends whose names start with a letter A. You will see that selection gives them check mark as well as light entire profile box in blue. Click on Create List and new list is created.
One thing that Facebook will do which is good especially if you crating family list or organizational list is that makes suggestions you can see on the right hand side. In case you might miss somebody you can always go over. This was just first basic building block I recommend people to create at least three lists, one for family, one for friends and the other one for limited facebook profile.
